Nasu Ropeway

Today we took the cable car to the top of Mt Chausu, an active volcano with no visible activity.

There were Sulphur smells from vents we could not see. so things were not too far down.

The weather was clear & cold and the climb was quite arduous, but worth the effort. Flying home tomorrow night.

DIY, coin operated, rice milling station

Our shipping container hotel, probably the best accomodation we have had.

Nasushiobara

Today we moved South toward Narita and have booked 2 nights at the Hotel R9 The Yard in Nasusshiobara. The hotel is all shipping containers and is the nicest & cleanest place we have stayed, as it is brand new. Tomorrow we are heading to the Nikko national park & the Nasu Ropeway to the top of an active volcano.

Asahi brewery, there were hundreds of these giant tanks

Steam from hot springs

Leaving Bandai Asahi national park.

We did one more walk of around 4k to the suspension bridge and there was not another single person, which seemed unusual as yesterday the walk had droves of people. The bear warning signs were out again. We also did another drive called the Lakeline drive through this gorgeous scenery. We have moved South to Fukashima.

All the roads have these deep gutters at the edge which can easily take a car wheel and are quite a hazard on the narrow roads.
